The power
of prayer along with the “Om Namah Shivaya” mantra is meant to awake your inner
self, salute the power of the universe and bow to the powers within
ourselves. It’s essentially the most ancient practice of self care as it
encourages promoting inner positivity.
Shiva means "auspicious, propitious, gracious, benign, kind,
benevolent, friendly". The roots of śiva in folk etymology
are "in whom all things lie, pervasiveness" and
"embodiment of grace". He is the Destroyer of evil, Parabrahman,
Supreme Being (Shaivism) and also the patron of Yoga and Meditation. Shiva is known by many names such as Viswanatha (lord of the
universe), Mahadeva, Mahandeo, Mahasu, Mahesha, Maheshvara, Shankara,
Shambhu, Rudra, Hara, Trilochana, Devendra (chief of the gods), Neelakanta,
Subhankara, Trilokinatha (lord of the three realms), and Ghrneshwar (lord of compassion).
